Day 20: When Life Feels Unfair, God is Still in Control
Genesis 37 introduces us to Joseph’s story—a young man with big dreams who suddenly finds himself betrayed by his own brothers and thrown into a pit. What should have been a season of joy, filled with the excitement of God’s promises, quickly turned into pain, rejection, and uncertainty.
As moms, we know what it’s like to feel overwhelmed, misunderstood, or even unfairly treated. Maybe you’ve poured yourself into your family, but you feel unseen. Maybe you have dreams and desires, but life’s challenges seem to push them further away. Joseph’s story reminds us that even when life doesn’t go as planned, God’s purpose is still at work.
Joseph was sold into slavery, but God had not abandoned him. The pit was not the end of his story—it was the beginning of God’s greater plan. Sometimes, the challenges we face are not meant to destroy us but to position us for something greater. Even in seasons of waiting, struggle, or uncertainty, we can trust that God is working behind the scenes, shaping us for what’s ahead.
Reflection Questions:
✨ Have you ever felt like you were in a “pit” season—where life felt unfair or discouraging? How did you respond?
✨ What dreams has God placed in your heart that feel distant or delayed?
✨ How can you remind yourself today that even in the struggle, God’s plan is still unfolding?
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for reminding me that You are always in control, even when life feels unfair. Help me to trust You in the waiting, in the struggles, and in the moments when I don’t understand. Strengthen my faith and help me to remember that You are working all things for my good. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
