Day 60: Crossing Over in Faith
Joshua 3–4 recounts the incredible moment when the Israelites crossed the Jordan River on dry ground. Just like the parting of the Red Sea, God once again makes a way where there seemed to be no way. But this time, it required a specific act of obedience: the priests had to step into the water first before the miracle happened. As soon as their feet touched the water, God held back the river, and the people crossed over safely.
This story is a powerful picture of how God calls us to step out in faith—even when we don’t see the full picture. As moms, we face our own "Jordan Rivers"—seasons of transition, uncertainty, or difficulty where God is asking us to trust Him and move forward. Whether it’s navigating a big decision, raising children through unfamiliar challenges, or entering a new phase of motherhood, God is inviting you to trust that He’s already gone ahead of you.
And just as the Israelites were told to take 12 stones from the riverbed to build a memorial, we are called to remember God’s faithfulness in our lives. These "stones of remembrance" become anchors for us and testimonies for our children.
Reflection Questions:
🔹 What “Jordan River” are you facing in your life right now that requires courageous faith?
🔹 How is God asking you to step out in obedience before you see the full breakthrough?
🔹 What are some “stones of remembrance” from your past—moments when God clearly showed up for you and your family?
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for being the God who makes a way through every unknown. Help me to trust You deeply, even when I don’t see the whole path ahead. Give me the courage to take the next step in faith, knowing that You are holding back the waters for me. And may I never forget the ways You’ve been faithful—remind me to pass those stories down to my children so they too can see Your hand at work. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
💛 Today, take that next step in faith. You don’t have to see the full picture—just trust the One who goes before you.
