Day 64: Raising a God-Fearing Generation in a World That Forgets
These chapters mark a sobering shift in Israel’s story. After Joshua’s generation passed away, the next generation “did not know the Lord or what He had done for Israel” (Judges 2:10). What followed was a cycle of disobedience, oppression, repentance, and deliverance. Over and over, the people forgot God’s faithfulness—and their forgetfulness led them into spiritual ruin.
As moms, this hits home. We are raising children in a generation that is surrounded by distractions and cultural influences that don’t always reflect God's truth. Judges 2–3 reminds us how easy it is for a generation to drift when we do not consistently pass on the stories of God’s goodness and anchor them in truth.
But there is hope.
God raised up judges—ordinary people empowered by Him—to lead and deliver His people. Even in seasons of failure, God remained merciful and faithful. He never stopped pursuing His people.
You don’t have to be perfect to make an impact in your home. You just need to be faithful. Every bedtime prayer, every Bible story, every honest conversation about God’s love—it matters. God can use your daily consistency to raise a generation that remembers Him.
Reflection Questions:
✨ How can you be intentional about sharing your faith with your children this week?
✨ What are some ways you can create spiritual rhythms in your home to keep God at the center?
✨ Is there any area where you’ve forgotten God’s goodness? Take a moment to remember.
Prayer:
Lord, I don’t want to raise a generation that forgets You. Help me to be faithful in planting seeds of truth in the hearts of my children. Show me how to talk about Your goodness in everyday moments, and strengthen me to live out my faith in a way that points them to You. Even in my weakness, use me to build a legacy of faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
