Day 61: Marching Around the Walls of Your Life

In Joshua 5 and 6, we witness a powerful and familiar story: the fall of Jericho. Before this miraculous victory, however, Joshua leads the Israelites through a sacred act of recommitment—the circumcision of the new generation and the celebration of Passover. Only then does God instruct them to begin the battle for Jericho, not with swords, but with silence, trumpets, and obedient marching.

As moms, we often find ourselves standing in front of our own Jerichos—those walls that seem too high, too strong, too impossible to move. Maybe it’s a child you’re worried about, a strained marriage, financial pressure, or even spiritual exhaustion. And yet, just like the Israelites, God is calling you not to fight with your own strength, but to walk in obedience.

The battle belongs to the Lord. The Israelites’ victory came not through force but through faithful following. They marched because God said so. They shouted because He instructed them to. And the walls came down because of obedience wrapped in trust.

Sometimes, your obedience in the daily things—praying, showing up, speaking life over your family, forgiving again, choosing joy—might not feel like “doing much,” but in the eyes of heaven, you’re shaking walls.

đź’ Reflection Questions:

What “walls” in your life are you asking God to bring down?

In what area is God asking you to simply obey—even when it doesn't make sense?

How can you model obedience and trust in God for your children today?

🙏 Prayer for the Day:

Lord, help me to trust You even when I don’t understand the “how.” Teach me to obey Your voice, to walk in faith, and to wait patiently for the victory You’ve already secured. Give me courage to keep going when the walls haven’t fallen yet. Help me to lead my home with that same faith, showing my children what it means to follow You fully. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
