Week 3: Day 14 - Genesis 24

Scripture Reading: Genesis 24

Devotional Focus: Trusting God’s Guidance

Genesis 24 is a beautiful story of God’s providence and faithfulness as Abraham’s servant seeks a wife for Isaac. In this chapter, we witness the power of prayer and trust in God’s guidance, even in life’s significant decisions.

Abraham’s servant begins his journey with a prayer, asking God to make His will clear. This is a reminder for us as moms: no matter how big or small the decision, prayer should be our starting point. The servant’s prayer wasn’t vague; it was specific, heartfelt, and expectant. He trusted that God would lead him to the right person, and God answered his prayer in an unmistakable way by leading him to Rebekah.

As moms, we often feel the weight of guiding our families and making countless decisions. Whether it’s choosing the best school for our kids, managing the family budget, or navigating relationships, we can trust God to lead us when we bring our concerns to Him. Like Abraham’s servant, we can trust that God knows the outcome and will guide us step by step.

Rebekah’s willingness to follow God’s plan is also a testimony to her faith. When she agreed to leave her family and go with the servant to marry Isaac, she demonstrated courage and trust in God’s purpose. Sometimes God’s guidance will ask us or our children to step out in faith and embrace change. As moms rooted in faith, we can encourage our families to trust God’s leading, even when it takes us into unfamiliar territory.

Reflection for Moms:

Are there areas in your life where you need to seek God’s guidance?

How can you model prayer and trust in God’s direction to your children?

Think about a time when God answered your prayers clearly. How can you use that testimony to build your faith today?

Encouragement for Today:

Moms, you don’t have to navigate life’s decisions alone. God delights in guiding you, and He answers the prayers of those who seek Him. Trust that He knows what’s best for you and your family, and lean on Him as your ultimate source of wisdom.

Prayer for the Day:

Father, thank You for being a God who hears my prayers and guides my steps. Help me to seek You first in every decision I face as a mom. Give me the wisdom to trust Your leading and the courage to follow Your plan, even when it’s unfamiliar. Teach me to rely on Your faithfulness and to model that trust to my children. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
